The Rev. Dr. Amy Avery Weese

Amy received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Hope College in Holland, Michigan.  During her time at Hope, she was a member of the Student Council, Campus Ministry Leader, and organized the Hope College speaker series where she personally booked speaking engagements by Maya Angelou and Ben Stein.

After graduation, Amy attended Western Theological Seminary, also in Holland, Michigan, where she graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2005.  During her time at Western, she developed a confirmation program for the youth at Fellowship Reformed Church, which is still in use to this day.

Amy made the move to Ohio in 2006 to began her ministry work at Worthington Presbyterian Church in Worthington, Ohio.  She served as the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care for six years.  During this time, she found her love of officiating weddings by serving as the officiant in approximately 45 weddings as the Associate Pastor, a love she has continued to this day.

In 2011, Amy received a full ride scholarship to Methodist Theological School, Delaware, Ohio where she received her Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling, becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).    Because of this unique mixture of education and experience, Amy has become a sought after and often requested wedding officiate.

Currently Amy is an Outpatient Counselor at her private practice Amy Avery Counseling Solutions (www.A2Counseling.com) as well as a triathlete and coach (www.PureBrAvery.com).  As a counselor, she is able to fulfill her desire to help people overcome their own adversities in order to live a healthier life.  As a triathlete, Amy has completed several Ironman® triathlons, but the one that had the biggest influence on her was the one she didn't finish after a severe bike crash in Arizona in 2014 which left her broken and filled with self doubt.  Recovery was long and hard, but having been loved and helped by so many people, it left her with a newfound appreciation for life and a desire for helping others.

In 2024, after five years of work, Amy completed her Doctorate of Ministry degree at Methodist Theological School, Delaware, Ohio, with a focus on vulnerability in relationships and larger congregate settings.

Having experienced her own personal hardships she is equipped with the knowledge, understanding, and desire to work with couples in order to have them appreciate what is important in a loving and nurturing partnership before, during, and after the wedding ceremony.
